I want to run full color photographs in my publication. How should I scan them?
As a general rule, the most acceptable way to scan or create images for output
is to scan them at twice the output resolution of the imaging device. If the file output will be 100 lines per inch, scan the artwork
at 200 dots per inch. This is true for grayscale as well as color images.
Also, remember that our presses are CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). After
you have made all the necessary adjustments to your scan, be sure the final image is
saved as an EPS or TIFF file in CMYK mode.
What should I include with my electronic files?
Please include screen and printer fonts versions for all fonts used.
We can only accept Postscript fonts, not True Type (which cause outputting problems when
used on high-end imagesetters). Also, include all document images. (Many design
programs, such as Quark XPress and Adobe Pagemaker, have a "collect for
output" feature that will do compile a complete list of images for you.) Finally,
always include a hard-copy proof of the job for our screen to hard-copy comparisions.
Is Valley Web Printing Mac or PC based?
We are primarily a Macintosh environment, however, we can usually
accomodate PC jobs successfully as well. Since PC jobs often present special challenges,
we will work closely with you to ensure a successful output.
How long does it take to create a web site?
Depending on the number of pages and the complextity of the design a web site can be launched
in one month but could take longer.
I want to capture contact information, how is this done?
To capture information from potential contact a database would be required. Valley Web Printing uses
software developed by First Tracks Software as a Customer Relation Management tool. Also, Tirst Tracks Software can provide custom
datasbase solutions.
